A Media Room by Any Other Name

by Sam Cavitt |

Imagine if the only available version of a novel was the condensed version. The only time we heard a song was in the elevator, or a ring tone. The only sunset we experienced was on a screen. These are extreme examples, stated to make a point. We are now at a time that the experience of watching movies as we have grown to know and love them is very likely to change. For many, the entire experience of watching movies may now be in their homes.

This may yield many changes. The most alarming being that the film industry may respond with lessor productions, diminishing the art form due to the perceived reduced venue. The most inspiring change would be that many would outfit their homes with rooms that would support the true cinematic experience. This is entirely possible and very attainable. A Media Room by Any Other Name is food for thought for anyone who loves movies and wants to enjoy them at their best, at home! If we are going to enjoy movies at home, let’s give the industry a reason to continue creating excellence.

Making sure we have access to a high-quality movie-watching experience may become more important now that our entire cinema experience may be our home cinema experience.
